Description:
Roundtable:
The Power of Mapping
Critical Mapping as an Instrument for [new] Municipalist Movements?
6 Oct. 2018, at ZKU, Berlin
This Roundtable was organised within the framework of the Urbanize! 2018 Berlin Festival and brought together an international group of about 40 persons that are engaged or interested in scenes of critical mapping and (new) municipalist movements. It discussed what separates critical mapping from mapping, what is ‘new’ about contemporary municipalist movements, and the predominantly extractive dynamic between scholars and activists. Discussants included Laia Bertran (Fearless Cities), Iva Čukić (Ministry of Space), Hana Grgić (Urban Alternatives), Severin Halder (This is Not an Atlas, Kollektiv Orangotango), and Andrej Holm (HU Berlin).
