The association Decolonize Berlin e.V. is committed to the critical examination of the history and present of colonialism and racism, to the recognition and reappraisal of colonial injustice, and to a decolonization of society as a whole.

In 2019, the association emerged from a civil society network of Black, diasporic, postcolonial and development groups in Berlin. This alliance continues to exist and is supported by the commitment of more than 100 individuals.

Only organizations and groups can become full members of Decolonize Berlin e.V. and thus have voting rights at the general meeting. Individuals can support the work as a sustaining member, but have no voting rights.
